FIFA has committed to leaving a legacy of education to Africa and the world by supporting 'Education for All' and driving mass awareness and participation through the millions of World Cup supporters.  

This new initiative is a partnership of FIFA, NGOs, governments and sport ambassadors to ensure everyone has an education: 1 GOAL: Education for All   The campaign was launched in the UK by Queen Rania of Jordan. Supporters of the campaign include professional footballers from around the world.  

Aaron Mokoena is committed to supporting 1 Goal campaign through an Ambassadorial role and will promote the campaign through his role as captain of Bafana Bafana, captain of Portsmouth FC and as chair of his charitable Foundation the Aaron Mokoena Foundation.  

In October 2009 Aaron Mokoena joined world leaders and fellow footballers in the global 1GOAL launch. The event's host Gary Lineker introduced speakers via satellite links: FIFA President Sepp Blatter in Zurich, President Zuma in South Africa, Prime Minister Zapatero in Madrid, Prime Minister Balkenende in the Netherlands and video footage from US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, UNSG Ban Ki-moon and President Mills from Ghana. Live from London were the campaign's co-founder Queen Rania of Jordan and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown alongside a host of other celebrities, footballers and supporters. Aaron Mokoena addressed the audience which was broadcast live by satellite around the world. On the campaign Aaron said "Education is intrinsically linked to a countries ability to develop grow and sustain its future generations. Access to education impacts not only on an individual child or young persons life but also on their immediate families, and the communities in which they live. The 1 GOAL campaign uses football as the catalyst for action. Football is the global conversation that has ability to bring people - communities and countries together. I'm very proud to belong to a profession that has the ability to galvanise Governments to work together to achieve 1 GOAL."
